How To Obtain Dimples

I pulled this from the archives of my letter writing I thought it would give someone a tickle. This is from this past fall. Moses is still 8 in this story.....enjoy!

It was a normal day. It happened a little ways back. I am simply putting it in my letter as reference. Where did Moses get his dimple anyway?
A year or two ago a son of a friend of mine had an accident. He got socked in the face by his big brother. After the bruise went away there was an unmistakable dimple left on just the one side of the kids face.
“His brother hit him. That was all it took to get this adorable dimple. I keep saying that Caleb needs to hit Josh on the other side so he has a set.” The boy’s mother would laugh.
I thought it was amusing, but as I thought back on it, after leaving. I thought ‘what a stupid explanation for a dimple’. But, I wasn’t there, and who knew? I tucked the thought deep in the recesses of my brain.
Yes, now back to my ordinary day. I had asked Moses to get something from his room. He had not cleaned his room like I had instructed. It was a dump-heap.
I was busy with something at hand. I then heard screams coming from his room. As usual I didn’t jump out of my skin or go running.
“MOSES!” I raised the volume a tad. But wasn’t shouting at him, “Honey, are you okay? Come here.”
He came in the living room, holding the right side of his face. Hot tears rolling down his cheeks.
“What did you do?” I asked seeing the very red-black bruise forming on his face.
Choking on his words he said. ‘I-I-I-I was going to get my _____(I forget now what he was going to go get). I tripped on my shoes. And…” he stopped a fresh load of tears washed his face as he remembered the collision. “My face hit the bed. You know…that wood piece that goes like this.” He made a horizontal motion with his hand, waving it back and forth.
I made an “Ouch” face. I gave him a cool rag, and an ice pack from my bottle-cooler equipment in the fridge. He sat on the couch, feeling very violated by his bunk beds. (Yes, the boys now share bunk beds, the same bunk beds that were mine and my sisters.)
The day wasn’t even completely through when a very deep dimple was formed on his cheek. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. WOW. Moses discovered it and spent an entire afternoon, checking himself out. A handsome new mark on his bed, compliments of a 2x6.
By-the-way…It has now been 2-3 yrs since my friends little boy had his punch in the face. He still has his dimple.
So this one thought remains. Should I hire Caleb to come and sock-it-to Moses’ left cheek, or should I just trip Moe going down the hall…Just so

he has a matching set.
